Platts launches Australian Carbon Credit Units No AD forward curve up to 36 months Sept.14

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, has launched an extended forward curve for the Platts Generic No AD ACCU assessment, expanding the existing market-assessed six-month curve to a calculated 36-month, effective Sept. 14, 2026.

A previous announcement was made by Platts as a market notification on July 30, 2026, and can be read here.

Expansion of Generic No AD ACCU forward curve assessments

Under the expanded structure, Platts will publish calculated assessments for months seven through 36, providing a longer-dated indication of market value for Generic No AD ACCUs, adding 30 calculated forward assessments to the existing curve.

Australian Carbon Credit Units, or ACCUs, are carbon credits generated by climate mitigation projects that avoid or remove 1 mt of CO2-equivalent greenhouse gas emissions under methodologies legislated by the Australian government and regulated by the Clean Energy Regulator.

Liable entities under Australia's Safeguard Mechanism can use ACCUs to meet their compliance obligations as well as voluntary emissions targets.

Generic No AD ACCUs are part of the broader Generic ACCU basket and exclude avoided deforestation credits.

Platts Generic No AD Forward curve specifications

The new curve continues to reflect volume and delivery specifications matching the spot Platts ACCU assessments as stated below:

• Volume Minimum — 1,000 mt
• Volume Maximum — 100,000 mt
• Currency - A$/mtCO2e
• Frequency: Daily
• Curve Code -- CN3MO
• Curve Name -- ACCU No AD
• Market Data Category: CMR
• Delivery — Forward up to 36 months
• Contract Rollover Date — On the 15th of each month, or on the prior business day in case of a weekend or public holiday on the 15th.

The assessments will follow the Platts APAC Carbon holiday calendar.

Below is the symbol description for the new extended months. For example, Mo07 represents month 7, and subsequent symbols represent months 8 through 36.

The daily Generic No AD ACCU forward assessments, with the existing curve code CN3MO, reflect the forward value of credits for the front six months and are currently published against the symbols below.
