Platts launches AN CFR Brazil assessment Sep 3

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, has launched a weekly Ammonium Nitrate (AN) CFR Brazil price assessment, effective Sept. 3, 2026.

The assessment captures spot market activity in Brazil and complements Platts' existing coverage of the Brazilian nitrates market.

The assessment has the following specifications:

Assessment Name: Ammonium nitrate (AN) CFR Brazil

Quality: 34.5% N ammonium nitrate

Quantity: 6,000-15,000 mt

Basis and location: CFR, Santos

Timing: Delivered 35-50 days forward

Frequency: Weekly

Unit of assessment: $/mt

The assessment considers market information reported to Platts and published as heards throughout the day, including firm bids and offers, trades, and indicative values, as well as any other data deemed relevant to the assessment process.

The assessment is published on Thursday as a single "close" value with a 16:30 São Paulo timestamp and follows the São Paulo publishing calendar. If Thursday is a non-publishing day, then the assessment will be published on the previous working day.

The assessment is published on Energy Core, Platts Fertecon Nitrogen Market Report, and the fixed page FEA0363.

This launch follows a proposal published by Platts on July 7 and a decision published on Aug. 5 to launch the weekly AN CFR Brazil price assessment.
