Platts proposes to launch AN CFR Brazil assessment, Sep 3

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, proposes to launch a weekly price assessment for ammonium nitrate (AN) delivered into Brazil, effective Sept. 3, 2026.

Brazil is the world's largest AN importer, regularly buying over 1 million metric tons/year.

The proposed assessment would reflect the spot-delivered price of AN based on the following specifications:

Assessment Name: Ammonium Nitrate CFR Brazil

Quality: 34.5% N ammonium nitrate

Quantity: 6,000-15,000 mt

Basis and location: CFR, Santos

Timing: Delivered 35-50 days forward

Frequency: Weekly, published on Thursdays

Unit of assessment: $/mt

Timestamp: 16:30 Sao Paulo close, published according to the Sao Paulo publishing calendar.

The proposed assessment would be published on Energy Core, Platts Fertecon Nitrogen Market Report and the fixed page FEA0363.
