Platts suspends publication of US monthly benzene industry settled contract price for September

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, has suspended with immediate effect the publication of its US monthly benzene industry settled contract price (PHAAD00) for September due to lack of confirmation of a full settlement from the market.

Based on market feedback, Platts understands that a split market settlement is not considered full.

Platts clarified its approach to its publication thresholds on Aug. 26, here.

Platts published its Platts Benzene CP (PUSBC00) on Aug. 27, which reflects the value of term contracts for delivery through September, and is calculated as the simple average of Platts daily spot assessments over the 10 business days preceding the last two business days of the month.

Platts has backfilled pricing history for this assessment to January 2026.
