Platts launches Moss Bluff Hub daily natural gas index

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, has launched a new Moss Bluff Hub daily natural gas index, effective for trade date Aug. 31 and flow date Sept. 1, 2026.

This launch follows a methodology proposal published July 7, 2026, available here, and a decision published July 28, available here.

The specifications for the new location index are as follows:

Moss Bluff Hub (daily market only): Deliveries into and out of interstate and intrastate pipelines at the Moss Bluff Hub in Liberty County, Texas. Pipelines include Texas Eastern Transmission, Natural Gas Pipeline Co. of America, Houston Pipe Line, Kinder Morgan Tejas Pipeline, Kinder Morgan Texas Pipeline, and the Enterprise Texas Intrastate System (including the Channel system). Included are deliveries and receipts into and out of Moss Bluff storage.
