Platts to rename, update specifications for two MOP CFR Latin America assessments
Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, will rename and update the specifications of two Latin America granular muriate of potash (MOP) price assessments, effective Sept. 15, 2026.
These changes are intended to better reflect market dynamics in the region.
The following updates will be made to the specifications of the weekly assessments as follows:

Discharge port: All Atlantic ports in the countries listed above. Where no granular grade MOP sales have been confirmed, Platts will use the known standard MOP price and apply the prevailing price differential where appropriate. |

Platts will also introduce a new "close" value, along with low and high values published at a standardized range to minus $1/short ton, plus $1/st below and above the assessed close value, respectively.
These assessments are currently published on Energy Core, in the Platts Fertecon Potash Market Report and on the fixed page FEA0365. The prices are assessed on Tuesdays at 16:30 Sao Paulo time and follow the Sao Paulo publishing schedule.
