Platts launches DAP South of Brazil R-PET assessments
Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has launched new daily spot price assessments for post-consumer polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle bales and recycled-PET (R-PET) flakes on a Delivered at Place (DAP) South of Brazil basis on Aug. 18, 2025.
The launch complements Platts' existing R-PET coverage in Brazil, basis Sao Paulo, by addressing the distinct pricing dynamics of a region that accounts for a significant share of both the production and consumption of these products in Brazil.
The assessments have the following specifications:

The assessments reflect spot prices at 4:00 pm US Central Time.
All market information reported to Platts may be considered and will be published in real time, including firm bids and offers, trades and indicative values, as well as any other data deemed relevant to the assessment process.
Pricing information for material with other specifications and terms may be normalized to the standard.
The assessments complement Platts existing R-PET coverage in Brazil, basis Sao Paulo, and are published in Polymerscan, Sustainable Polymerscan, Platts Connect, and Platts Petrochemical Alert fixed pages 0441, 0574, 0624, 2415, 0441, 0574.
