Platts to launch DAP South of Brazil R-PET assessments
Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will launch new daily spot price assessments for post-consumer polyethylene terephthalate bottle bales and recycled-PET flakes on a delivered-at-place South of Brazil basis on Aug. 18, 2025.
The launch will complement Platts' existing R-PET coverage in Brazil, basis Sao Paulo, by addressing the distinct pricing dynamics of a region that accounts for a significant share of both the production and consumption of these products in Brazil.
The assessments will have the following specifications:

The assessments will reflect spot prices at 4:00 pm US CT.
All market information reported to Platts may be considered and will be published in real time, including firm bids and offers, trades and indicative values, as well as any other data deemed relevant to the assessment process.
Pricing information for material with other specifications and terms may be normalized to the standard.
The assessments will complement Platts existing R-PET coverage in Brazil, basis Sao Paulo, and be published in Polymerscan, Sustainable Polymerscan and in Platts Connect.
