Platts proposes to launch DAP South of Brazil R-PET assessments
Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, proposes to launch new daily spot price assessments for post-consumer polyethylene terephthalate bottle bales and recycled-PET flakes on a DAP (Delivered at Place) South of Brazil basis on Aug. 18.
The proposed launch would complement Platts' existing R-PET coverage in Brazil, basis Sao Paulo, by addressing the distinct pricing dynamics of a region that accounts for a significant share of both the production and consumption of these products in Brazil.
The assessments are proposed with the following specifications:

The proposed assessments would reflect spot prices at 4:00 pm US Central Time.
All market information reported to Platts may be considered and would be published in real time, including firm bids and offers, trades and indicative values, as well as any other data deemed relevant to the assessment process.
Pricing information for material with other specifications and terms may be normalized to the standard.
The assessments would complement Platts existing R-PET coverage in Brazil, basis Sao Paulo, and be published in Polymerscan, Sustainable Polymerscan and in Platts Connect.
