Platts to discontinue its Household Devices LDC project differential Oct 1

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, will discontinue its Least Developed Countries Project Differential for Household Devices carbon credits, effective Oct. 1, 2026.

Platts initially proposed this discontinuation via a subscriber note published on June 5.

This reflects changing dynamics in the household devices segment of the voluntary carbon market, including how premium segments of the cookstove credit market are categorized.

Platts Household Devices Least Developed Countries Project Differential (AHHDA00) captures the premium or discount for carbon credits generated from projects located in Least Developed Countries (LDC), as designated by the UN, versus the Platts Household Devices Current Year price assessment.

The discontinuation reflects the limited trading activity that is explicitly expressed as premiums and discounts in the market for household device carbon credits.

The assessment to be discontinued is as follows:

The discontinuation also includes the above assessments' currency conversions and monthly averages.
