Platts proposes to discontinue its Household Devices LDC project differential Oct 1

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, proposes to discontinue its Least Developed Countries Project Differential, for Household Devices carbon credits, effective Oct. 1, 2026.

The proposal reflects changing dynamics in the household devices segment of the voluntary carbon market, including the way premium segments of the cookstoves credits market are categorized.

Platts Household Devices Least Developed Countries Project Differential (AHHDA00) captures the premium or discount for carbon credits generated from projects located in Least Developed Countries (LDC), as designated by the UN, versus the Platts Household Devices Current Year price assessment. The proposed discontinuation reflects the limited trading activity that is explicitly expressed as premiums and discounts in the market for household device carbon credits.
