Platts to change name of Ethanol T2 FOB Rotterdam eWindow instrument, July 1

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, will change the name of the Ethanol T2 FOB Rotterdam assessment (AAYDT00) eWindow instrument to reflect 23.5 grams of carbon intensity, effective July 1, 2026.

The change reflects the Platts decision to reduce the maximum carbon intensity specification of its Ethanol T2 assessment to 23.5 g of CO2e per megajoule, equivalent to minimum greenhouse gas savings of 75% versus a fossil-fuel comparator of 94 g CO2e/MJ under the European Commission's Renewable Energy Directive (RED III) framework, effective July 1, as announced in a subscriber note, available here.

The new name will appear on the eWindow communication tool as:

  • Platts T2 Ethanol 23.5g FOB Rdam

The instrument currently appears as:

  • Platts T2 Ethanol 33.52g FOB Rdam

Participants will continue to be able to submit bids and offers for publication either directly through the eWindow or via a price reporter.

Platts has established clearly defined timing and increment guidelines that apply when publishing bids and offers in the Platts Market on Close assessment process in order to ensure an orderly and transparent price assessment process.

Please refer to the Platts methodology and specifications guide on biofuels timing and increment guidelines, available here.

The assessment will also reflect a strip laycan of five to 15 days forward, effective July 1, in line with the June 2 announcement, avilable here. Furthermore, the Nabisy Proof of Sustainability (PoS) documentation is a standard requirement for all Ethanol T2 FOB Rotterdam barge indications in the MOC.

Entities interested in participating in the MOC can submit their request via this form: MOC Participation Review Request | S&P Global.
