Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, has updated the SAF ETJ cost of production tariffs application and clarified the cost exclusions, effective Feb. 24, 2026.
After the US Supreme Court overturned country-specific tariffs, and the White House announced 10% global tariffs, Platts has updated the cost of production prices for SAF ETJ that incorporate imported Brazilian ethanol from 50% tariff to 10% tariff.
If there are any changes to these tariffs, Platts will update the value of Brazilian ethanol accordingly and inform the market by publishing additional subscriber notes.
Platts also clarifies that its sustainable aviation fuel ETJ cost of production prices do not include plant front-end costs such as project feasibility study and engineering design costs, government permits costs, land cost, technology license and royalty fees, working capital, initial catalyst-charge costs, spare parts cost, plant start-up costs, project financing and borrowing costs.
This applies to the following ETJ cost of production prices and their monthly averages :
Platts publishes the ETJ cost of production prices in Platts Connect, Biofuelscan, Biomass-Based Diesel Report, US Marketscan, Oilgram Price Report and fixed pages PB010, PB012, PB1011, PB1015, PRF450, PRF480, PRF483, PRF158 and PRF451.
