Platts to discontinue several New York, Connecticut and New Hampshire US Renewable Energy Certificates assessments May 4

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, will discontinue several US Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) price assessments, effective May 4.

Platts initially proposed the discontinuation on Feb. 5, in a subscriber note available here.

New York Tier 1 RECs are being discontinued due to regulatory changes that have reduced market liquidity. Connecticut REC Class 1 Prior Year Vintage and New Hampshire REC Class 1 Prior Year Vintage are being discontinued due to limited liquidity for these contracts.

Platts assessments for New York Wind RECs will not be impacted by this change.

Platts will continue to assess Connecticut REC Class 1 Current and Next Year vintages, and New Hampshire REC Class 1 Current and Next Year vintages.

The assessments currently appear in the fixed pages CLE3200, PEA0750, EVA3005, AGP2750, as well as in REC Daily and Megawatt Daily.
