New plants to be commissioned in 'various regions'

The president of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, has announced plans to build four new cement plants by 2029, the Tajik presidential press service said.

In the first nine months of 2025, Tajikistan produced 3.7 million mt of cement, up 16% from 2024, according to the country's Agency for Statistics. A full year total for 2025 has not yet been made publicly available. The country has 16 operational cement plants, and the four new plants are expected to double the nation's annual production capacity.

"The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, issued a series of strict instructions to relevant agencies to fully meet the country's market demand for domestically produced cement," the presidential press service said in a statement on May 28.

The four plants will have a total production capacity of 6 million metric tons per year and will be commissioned in "various regions" across the country.

"With this capacity, cement production in Tajikistan will increase by 100%, resulting in a full and surplus supply of high-quality cement at affordable prices for the domestic market," the presidential press service said.
