Cemvision aims to leverage low-carbon cement for flooring
Partnership targets flooring for logistics, data center sectors
Swedish low-carbon cement startup Cemvision is partnering with flooring products company Linotol to develop flooring solutions using low-carbon cement, Cemvision said in a statement May 27.
The new multiyear partnership follows a joint development program between the two companies in 2025 that resulted in the development of low-carbon flooring for Swedish real estate company Stendorren. The partnership will use Cemvision's "near-zero" carbon cement product, known as Re-ment Massive.
"Industrial flooring has lacked a credible near-zero alternative -- until now," Oscar Hallen, CEO of Cemvision, said in the statement. "Together with Linotol, we are putting a complete, certified floor solution on the market that developers building the logistics hubs and data centers of tomorrow can specify with confidence."
Cemvision's Re-ment Massive uses recycled industrial residues and fossil-free electricity. It has the potential to reduce emissions by up to 95% when compared with conventional cement, according to the company.
Linotol is a provider of industrial floors and primarily serves real estate developers across Sweden with concrete floors.
"We are happy to add Linotol to our growing portfolio of industry leaders along the value chain who, after testing and validation, place their trust in our technology and our ability to deliver at scale," Hallen said.
The companies did not disclose the duration of the agreement or the amount of cement Cemvision expects to produce.
On May 5, Cemvision announced a memorandum of understanding with Mannok, an Ireland-based building materials producer, to develop near-zero-carbon cement products.
