Delegates can enhance their event experience by joining our technical site visits, showcasing some of Denmark's most innovative energy and decarbonisation projects. As an optional add-on during registration checkout, delegates can choose a full-day tour on 24 November, featuring three leading hydrogen, carbon management and e-methanol facilities, and/or select one of two morning site visits on 27 November, focused on carbon capture and utilisation or next-generation maritime propulsion technologies.

Discover Port of Esbjerg's plans to become a key hub for hydrogen, e-fuels, and carbon management. With three dedicated hydrogen project sites and a strategic vision to establish itself as a CCS activity hub, the port leverages its deep-water facilities and proximity to offshore CCS storage sites in the North Sea. Its location positions it to play a central role in Denmark’s clean energy transition, linking hydrogen offtake and export opportunities. Visitors will learn how the port is building on its existing strengths in offshore energy, logistics, and large-scale industrial infrastructure to support future hydrogen production, CO₂ handling, and distribution, driving regional decarbonisation and green growth.

You'll see the large wind turbines surrounding the Port of Esbjerg, powering Stiesdal’s 3.1 MW HydroGen Electrolyser, which produces green hydrogen when electricity prices are lowest. The facility has also been outfitted with a battery energy storage system (BESS) and 4MW electrolyser from Plug Power. Supplying hydrogen to multiple offtakers, including the port and a leading industrial gases company. Excess heat from the electrolysis process is used by the local heating utility, DIN Forsyning, supporting Esbjerg’s decarbonisation efforts. The electrolyser can produce up to 57.5 kg of hydrogen per hour, with potential for expansion, making it a scalable platform for maritime, mobility, and industrial use in West Jutland, creating local jobs and reducing emissions.

At Kassø, visitors can see how renewable electricity is converted into a usable low-carbon fuel through a full Power-to-X process. The facility combines green hydrogen with biogenic CO₂ to produce e-methanol, creating a more sustainable fuel option for sectors such as shipping, industry and chemicals that are harder to decarbonise. As the world’s first large-scale e-methanol plant, Kassø is a strong example of how hydrogen production and carbon utilisation can be integrated at commercial scale to support the transition to cleaner fuels.

Visitors will experience ARC’s innovative carbon capture and utilisation technology, which captures CO₂ emissions from industrial sources and either converts them into valuable products or stores them safely. The facility showcases integrated CCUS solutions, demonstrating how industrial emissions can be effectively managed to support decarbonisation goals. The visit will highlight the latest advancements in CCUS infrastructure and operations, as well as the potential for scaling these technologies across sectors.

Everllence, founded in 1846 as Burmeister & Wain, has led two-stroke engine innovation for over a century, delivering the first vessel powered by such an engine in 1912. Today, the company focuses on advancing fuel-flexible engines for the global merchant fleet, capable of running on conventional fuels, biofuels, methane, methanol, ammonia, and LPG. Its Denmark-based research center develops and validates breakthrough technologies, including the first successful ammonia combustion in a large two-stroke engine. Through ongoing testing, Everllence proves that sustainable propulsion is a current reality, supporting the maritime industry’s shift to cleaner energy with low emissions and high efficiency.
