Following observed changes in South Africa's bunker fuel market, S&P Global Platts has reduced the maximum sulfur content reflected in the delivered Durban Marine Gasoil assessment [PUAGY00, monthly average PUAGY03]. The previous 1.5% sulfur limit has been reduced to 0.1%, effective February 1, 2019.
The change was prompted by Platts' understanding that the majority of traded volumes at the port are now for 0.1% low sulfur MGO.
This follows a decision note to reduce the maximum sulfur content at Durban, published December 18, 2018, the link for which can be found here:
