Drill into daily natural gas supply and demand fundamentals, price survey and Bidweek Prices and net storage inventories by facility. Follow import/export flows for hubs in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Supply and demand balance

The Lower 48 US supply and demand balance is visualized on a map where you can drill into regional supply and demand data. Metrics include modeled dry and modeled wellhead, industrial, residential and commercial, power plants LNG pipe deliveries and exports, exports to Mexico, production losses and Canadian net imports.

Oil & Gas Production

See same-day natural gas production estimate at 112 producing areas by well type, plus monthly estimates of oil at the same areas. This includes all supply meter points in those areas and volume history by county and state, plus analysis of weekly rig counts.

PointLogic provides macro-to-micro production perspectives for wellhead and dry estimates on a unique dynamic interface with one-click charting for every producing area. Breakdowns by region and shale play are included with:

  • Complete supply data for natural gas and oil, including developments that are coming into the pipe from gathering versus processing
  • A complete picture of trends by geographic play using state historical data
  • Every active meter location and associated volume history
  • Monthly oil production by PADD in a single view

Processing and NGLs

PointLogic visualizes NGL trends and provides daily estimate of NGLs and ethane rejection and recovery by the 11 US Energy Information Administration (EIA) refining districts. It provides net throughputs at more than 280 gas processing plants along with data profiles of each plant.

Randy Rischard

Mr. Rischard manages short-term market intelligence and related product development for the Gas, Power, and Energy Futures team, including data, news, and price indexes. He started his career in energy almost 30 years ago working first for Williams and then ONEOK. He was previously vice president of data and analysis for Energy Central, where he built a line of interactive, integrated energy data and analysis products now owned by Penwell. Prior to that he was codirector of SNL Energy, a division of SNL Financial (now S&P Global Market Intelligence) created with SNL's acquisition of Io Energy-an energy information company Mr. Rischard founded and ran as president and CEO. Prior to Io Energy, Mr. Rischard was publisher and ran the largest division of Financial Times Energy, which was acquired by S&P Global Platts in 2001. Mr. Rischard holds a Bachelor of Science from Oklahoma State University, United States.

Jack Weixel

Jack is a Senior Director with S&P Global Commodity Insights and plays a key role in product development and client support focused on modeling real-time, short-term and long-term forecasts of natural gas supply, demand and storage. He comes to S&P Global from OPIS where he helped build that company's first ever natural gas fundamentals service, the PointLogic Energy Suite. Prior to joining OPIS and S&P Global, Jack was a director for Bentek Energy, managing its North American Natural Gas, European Gas, and GIS business units in addition to serving on the company's Senior Leadership Team. He previously led the company's Client Services division along with the company's Midcontinent and Canadian natural gas desks. Before joining Bentek in 2006, Jack spent seven years as a senior energy regulatory consultant for the EOP Group, Inc. in Washington, DC after working in the U.S. Senate.Jack holds a Master in Business Administration from George Washington University and a degree in Finance from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. He also serves on the board of directors for Energy Outreach Colorado and Denver CASA.

Warren Waite, director, S&P Global Commodity Insights, is an expert in North American natural gas markets. He has in-depth and broad knowledge of regional supply, demand, and price dynamics across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. He has written numerous insights on regional gas market dynamics. Matthew Palmer

Alan Lammey

Mr. Lammey's area of specialty is in US natural gas prices and price-setting mechanisms that influence price direction (futures and spot markets). As a certified weather forecaster, he also has more than a decade of experience in analyzing how weather patterns and modeling impact natural gas supply, demand, and storage. Mr. Lammey has 25 years of experience working in the energy futures and physical markets. As a formerly licensed stock, options, and commodities broker in the 1990s, he also offers keen insight into the financial side of the energy markets, particularly as to how and why market participants may be positioning themselves into various futures and derivative positions based on technical drivers as well as underlying macro and micro fundamental catalysts. Prior to joining S&P Global in 2013, Mr. Lammey was a senior energy markets analyst for Energy Intelligence Group, where he produced daily written analysis on the US oil and natural gas markets. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in business from the University of Houston, United States.
