Decarbonization is a global priority, renewable energy has risen to the top of many political agendas.
The recent California low carbon fuel standard is one example of that, the impact of this and other such policies has wide reaching implications for end users of biofuels as well as huge implications for the feedstocks required to produce it.
We are seeing a significant increase in demand for vegetable oils, most notably soybean oil. This demand has contributed to CME Soybean Oil futures rallying over 160% in the past year. We will cover the policies and their impact on expected demand and price of vegetable oils globally.
