Platts proposes to assess 80,000 mt Aframax tanker freight rates from the Red Sea to China.
The route would cover the Bashayer offshore oil terminal in Sudan.
Other related ports, such as Yanbu in Saudi Arabia, would be normalised to a Bashayer basis.
The assessment would reflect discharge into the Chinese ports of Dalian and Ningbo.
These rates would be published in Platts Dirty Tankerwire and Platts Global Alert pages 137 and 945.
Platts proposes to add the assessments on March 1, 2012.
Please send all comments or questions by February 1, 2012, to asia_tankers@platts.com and pricegroup@platts.com.
