Platts proposes Persian Gulf-WCI dirty tanker assessments

Platts proposes to assess 265,000 mt very large crude carrier freight rates from the Persian Gulf to West Coast India.

While the standard cargo size for assessment is 265,000 mt, cargo sizes from 255,000-270,000 mt would also be considered for inclusion in the final assessment, and normalized accordingly.

This route would cover the following ports in the Persian Gulf: Ras Tanura in Saudi Arabia, Mina Al Ahmadi in Kuwait and Kharg Island in Iran.

Other related ports in the Persian Gulf will be normalized to these three ports.

The discharge ports will be Sikka, Vadinar and Mundra ports in Gujarat.

These rates would be published in Platts Dirty Tankerwire and Platts Global Alert pages 137 and 945.

Platts proposes to add the assessments on March 1, 2012.
