Platts proposes to assess 80,000 mt Aframax tanker freight rates from Australia to North Asia.
This route would cover the following loadports in Northwest Australia: Dampier, Pyrenees and Stybarrow.
Other related ports in Australia would be normalised to these three ports. Discharge ports would reflect Yeosu in Korea and the Chinese ports of Zhanjiang and Zhoushan.
Fixtures to other discharge ports in the region, including Japan's Kikuma, Chiba, Atsumi and Akita ports, would be normalised to the primary basis ports.
These rates would be published in Platts Dirty Tankerwire and Platts Global Alert pages 137 and 945.
Platts proposes to add the assessments on March 1, 2012.
Please send all comments or questions by February 1, 2012, to asia_tankers@platts.com and pricegroup@platts.com.
