Following an extended period of industry review that began on October 29, 2009, Platts has updated its proposal to update, amend and -- in some cases -- remove a series of the quality specifications for its FOB Singapore gasoil and diesel assessments.
Platts now expects to implement these changes with effect from April 1, 2010.
Platts proposes to update specifications for Total Acid Number; appearance; Conradson Carbon Residue; Cetane Number and Index; Cloud Point; Copper Corrosion; Distillation; Filter Blocking Tendency; and Lubricity.
The proposed amendments affect all grades of gasoil assessed. Amendments have been made to proposed updates for distillation and pour point.
Platts invites comments on these proposed changes by January 31, 2010, to asia_oilproducts@platts and pricegroup@platts.com.
The full list of amendments can be viewed online at: http://www.platts.com/IM.Platts.Content/MethodologyReferences/MethodologySpec s/singgasoil.pdf or http://bit.ly/singgasoil
