Platts to launch Poland propane assessments January 2

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will launch two new daily Poland propane assessments and their respective monthly averages, reflecting CIF deliveries on seagoing coasters and FCA loadings via railcars/trucks at Polish main ports, effective Jan. 2, 2025, amid market feedback seeking greater transparency for the value of propane delivered into Poland. This follows the anticipated entering into force of the EU's import ban on Russian propane after an initial 12-month transition period, from January 2025.

The Platts Propane CIF Poland coaster assessment [ABLKD00] will reflect the value of pressurized vessels for delivery five to 15 days from the date of publication.

The assessment will reflect coasters with full or part-cargoes of 1,000-5,000 mt, with a minimum content of 93% C3s and a maximum of 10% olefins, including both field and refinery grades of non-Russian origin. The assessment will be CIF basis Gdansk, Gdynia or Szczecin in Poland.

In the absence of bids, offers and trades, the market may be assessed as a differential to the related Platts Propane FCA Poland assessment after accounting for port fees and logistical costs associated with discharge and storage at the terminal.

The Platts Propane FCA Poland assessment [ABLKE00] will reflect the value of non-Russian pressurized material on FCA Gdansk, Gdynia or Szczecin, loading two to 15 days from the date of publication.

The assessment will reflect railcar andtruck loadings ex-refinery/storage with parcels of 20-1,000mt, with a minimum content of 95% C3s and a maximum of 10% olefins, including both field and refinery grades.

Platts will publish the new Poland propane assessments on an outright basis in $/mt, time-stamped at 4:30 pm London time. In the absence of any bids, offers or trades in the Platts Market on Close assessment process, information heard in over-the-counter markets may be taken into consideration.
