Platts clarifies EUAs, UKA Nearest Dec expiry and contract rollover dates

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, would like to clarify the date of expiry for both the EU Allowance and UK Allowance Nearest December contract.

For both markets, the nearest December contract ceases trading at market close on the last Monday of the contract month. If the last Monday is a UK Bank Holiday or there is a UK Bank Holiday in the 4 days following the last Monday, the final day of the Nearest December contract for both EUAs and UKAs will be the penultimate Monday of the delivery month.

For example, in 2025 both EUAs and UKAs for December 2025 will expire on Dec. 15, 2025 at market close.
