S&P Global Platts recognizes the US Pacific Northwest has a significant hourly electricity power market that has grown in recent years.
To provide transparency on hourly trading, these new indexes will reflect prices for electric power traded hourly each calendar day in the Northwest, which lacks an organized marketplace.
Platts has launched Mid-C Hourly Bilateral Indexes effective December 18, 2019. The Mid-C Hourly Bilateral Indexes will include prices for hours ending 1-24, as well as a daily aggregation of the on-peak and off-peak hours of hourly trades, based on price submitted data.
The Mid-C Hourly Bilateral Indexes will be assessed the morning following the hourly trading day and will be published in the next business day’s Megawatt Daily and Energy Trader. Weekend and holiday hourly prices will be assessed the following immediate business day and published on Platts Electricity Alerts.
Please send any feedback, comments, or questions to ElectricityPrice and pricegroup For written comments, please provide a clear indication if comments are not intended for publication by Platts for public viewing. Platts will consider all comments received and will make comments not marked as confidential available upon request.
