Following observed changes in South Africa's bunker fuel market, S&P Global Platts will reduce the maximum sulfur content reflected in the delivered Durban Marine Gasoil assessment [PUAGY00, monthly average PUAGY03]. The current 1.5% sulfur limit will be reduced to 0.1%. The change will take effect from February 1, 2019.
The change is prompted by Platts understanding that the majority of traded volumes at the port are now for 0.1% low sulfur MGO.
This follows a proposal note to reduce the maximum sulfur content at Durban, published November 19, the link for which can be found here:
