Platts is proposing to start using TSI (The Steel Index) CFR Turkey Scrap prices as an input in the Turkey ARC model, which tracks spreads between regional steel and scrap prices and publishes daily relative strength indexes.
TSI is a specialist independent pricing unit owned by Platts.
The TSI HMS 1/2 80:20 Deep-sea Turkey Imports CFR Iskenderun Port assessment (TS01011) would replace Platts CFR Turkey Scrap prices (FETKD00 ) in the model, affecting all of the data the model generates.
The move aligns this model with the use of TSI CFR Turkey Scrap in proposed sector analytics, and with the data's selection in the derivatives market.
The Turkey ARC assessments are published in Platts Metals Alert, Platts SBB-Steel Market Daily, Platts Steel Price Report and Platts Raw Materials Monthly.
The data is also available in Platts Markets Data.
