Platts, on August 27, 2010, published a subscriber note seeking industry feedback following a request from a number of participants to review the specification of European MTBE with regards to water content.
Following bilateral discussions with participants, Platts will retain the current specifications, reflecting MTBE with a minimum purity of 98%, a maximum water content of 1,000 ppm and a maximum methanol content of 1.5% of the total weight.
