Platts proposes aligning Asian thermal coal assessments from Apr 1

S&P Global Platts is proposing aligning the publication of its daily Platts China Coal (PCC) index thermal coal assessments with the Singapore calendar from April 1, 2020, to better reflect international trading activity and liquidity.

Currently, the PCC assessments are published according to the Chinese holiday calendar.

Separately, in a subscriber note dated December 16, 2019, Platts has proposed the discontinuation of its Yuan/mt and $/mt equivalent FOB Qinhuangdao price assessments for Chinese domestic thermal coal grades 5,500 kcal/kg NAR (PCC 1) and 5,000 kcal/kg NAR (PCC 2) with effect from April 1, 2020.
