Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has begun publishing crude carbon intensity values in gCO2e/MJ (LHV basis) for its existing crude grades, effective Dec. 13, 2024.
This data is produced by the Commodity Insightsanalytics team.
These crude carbon intensity values will now include the additional units of gCO2e/MJ for all crude grades already published by Commodity Insights in kgCO2e/barrel. Reporting in both gCO2e/MJ and kgCO2e/barrel provides the information required to fully analyze the crude grades.
The new units are available for the following grades:
