Subscriber note: Platts to update LA, San Francisco octane ratings

Effective December 17, 2012, Platts will adjust the octane ratings of several gasoline assessments in Los Angeles and San Francisco to align with specifications published by US pipeline operator Kinder Morgan. The Platts US West Coast refined products assessment specifications have historically matched those published by Kinder Morgan. These products appear on PGA page 350 and in US Marketscan and Asia Pacific Arab Gulf Marketscan. Los Angeles Premium Unleaded 91 will reflect an octane rating of 88.5. The product code is PGABG00. San Francisco unleaded 87 will reflect an octane rating of 84. The product code is PGADG00. San Francisco premium unleaded 91 will reflect an octane rating of 88.5. The product code is PGABO00. Additionally, San Francisco CARBOB will reflect an octane rating of 84, as currently stated in the Platts methodology guide. The product code is AAKYN00. San Francisco Premium CARBOB will reflect an octane rating of 88.5. The product code is AAKYP00. The code descriptions for these products will be amended to read CARBOB and Premium CARBOB, without octane ratings.
