Platts formalizes New Orleans mt conversions for MAP, DAP, urea and GMOP

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has formalized four weekly converted US fertilizer assessments, effective Dec. 13.

The assessments, published as a low-high range, are as follows:

• AFERB00 Diammonium Phosphate Bulk FOB NOLA US Domestic $/mt Wkly
• AFERD00 Granular Urea FOB NOLA $/mt Wkly
• AFERC00 Monoammonium Phosphate Bulk FOB NOLA US Domestic $/mt Wkly
• AFERE00 Potassium Chloride Granular FOB NOLA US Domestic $/mt

These assessments appear in the Fertecon US Fertilizer Report, but did not previously appear in other services and were not databased using Platts assessment codes.

Platts would also like to clarify that these assessments represent the FOB cargo value of the markets described. Prior to Dec. 13, they appeared in the US Fertilizer Report publication as CFR assessments; Platts has updated their names to better reflect the underlying calculation.
