Subscriber note: Platts proposes Durban MGO assessment

Platts proposes to launch an assessment for value of marine gasoil at South Africa's port of Durban with effect from February 1, 2013. The new assessment reflects a growth in the supply of MGO at most ports across the region. The new MGO assessment would be published alongside the existing Platts assessments for MDO and 180 CST bunker fuel in Durban, and would be assessed on an ex-wharf basis. Platts' new marine gasoil assessment will reflect typical standards as defined by the International Organization for Standardization in document ISO 8217:2005. New ISO standards issued in 2010 and 2012 have not yet become commonly reflected in most bunker supplies around the world. Platts continues to review traded specifications. All assessments will appear in Bunkerwire and Platts price assessment database. The new assessment would also be found on Platts Global Alert page 1860. Please send any feedback, comments or queries by January 15 to europe_products@platts.com and pricegroup@platts.com.
