SUBSCRIBER NOTE:Platts defines European polymer contract price assessment parameters

Platts proposes to further define the parameters reflected in its European polymer contract price assessments. Platts currently states that its monthly polymer contract price assessments in Europe reflect gross and/or net prices negotiated between contract parties for corresponding monthly deliveries. Platts proposes to define a contract price as one negotiated against an annual commitment to supply or procure regular monthly volumes. Platts may use information on all contractually agreed volumes to form the basis of its assessments although assessments will be normalised to reflect contractual commitments of 3,000-6,000 mt/year. Platts further seeks to clarify the use of price deltas in its contract price assessments. Platts may consider all reported information that may be verified including but not limited to, price deltas. The governing factor in the price assessments, however, is to reflect the negotiated and mutually agreed absolute price. Platts seeks feedback on all aspects of this proposal and further clarification to petchems@platts.com and pricegroup@platts.com by January 15, 2015.
