In light of changes to current market practices and following initial feedback from the industry, Platts proposes to refine its EMEA fuel ethanol sustainability clause effective July 1, 2013. Platts is proposing to reflect on its Market On Close process for T2 FOB Rotterdam undenatured fuel ethanol barges product that has proof of sustainability from a valid EU-recognized certification scheme -- also known in the industry as voluntary scheme -- at the day of assessment. This means Platts would no longer reflect product that carries proof of sustainability from a national system or from a scheme recognized only by individual EU member states. Platts is also reviewing whether German national certification systems should still be reflected on its T2 FOB Rotterdam German spec undenatured fuel ethanol assessment. Platts intends to implement these changes on July 1, 2013, after reviewing comments from the industry. Please provide feedback to guilherme_kfouri@platts.com with copy to petchems@platts.com by December 15.
