Platts wishes to remind all subscribers that it will lower the sulfur specification of its flagship Singapore Gasoil assessment to 500 ppm from the current 0.5% (5,000 ppm) on January 2, 2013. At the same time, Platts will lower the sulfur specification of its flagship Arab Gulf Gasoil netback assessment to 500 ppm, and all other related 0.5% gasoil assessments in the region. The lower sulfur specifications reflect changing supply and demand trends across the regions. To help all interested parties, Platts has posted relevant subscriber notes, a Frequently Asked Questions document, and a background paper on its website. These materials can be found at the following link: http://marketing2012.platts.com/content/OLAP201208_SGGasoilAssessChg_Resources
Platts confirmed these changes in subscriber notices published in November 2011. We welcome all questions and comments at oilgroup@platts.com and pricegroup@platts.com.
