Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has launched a weekly spot assessment for the phenol premium over benzene on an FD NWE basis, Dec. 5.
The decision to publish the phenol premium over benzene was first published in the subscriber note below:
https://www.spglobal.com/commodityinsights/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/110723-platts-to-launch-weekly-phenol-fd-nwe-premium-assessment
The assessment will complement Platts existing spot assessments for outright phenol prices in Northwest Europe.
Alongside the benzene CIF ARA assessment (AAOAX00) the assessed premium, or adder, forms the existing Platts assessment of the outright phenol spot value, which conforms to the below specifications:
Minimum purity of 99.9% and maximum water content of 0.08%.
Assessment Window: Spot assessments are based on the latest information from the market up to the close of the assessment window at 4:30 pm London time Tuesday.
Timing: Assessments reflect product for delivery or loading 3-30 days forward from the date of publication.
Basis and Locations: Eur/mt FD NWE.
Standard cargo size: Minimum 20 mt
This assessment will be published on Platts Petrochemical Alert pages 378, 447 and Solventswire.
