Following feedback from market participants, S&P Global Platts will launch US Gulf Coast standard naphtha and heavy naphtha instruments in the Platts Market on Close assessment process through eWindow technology from December 11, 2017.
Participants in the MOC process will be able to submit bids or offers for publication directly through the eWindow communication tool, or do so through an editor who would then publish the bids and offers using the software.
Bids, offers and trades for USGC naphtha barges will be published through the eWindow software on either a flat price basis or on a floating price basis versus Platts USGC conventional 87 waterborne gasoline assessments, with predetermined deemed pricing dates.
The instruments will appear in the eWindow software as follows, with the hub as USGC DAP:
Platts Standard Naphtha vs WB Platts Heavy Naphtha vs WB Platts Standard Naphtha Flat Price Platts Heavy Naphtha Flat Price
Headlines generated by the software on Platts Global Alert will carry these prefixes.
Platts expects credit relationships that prevail inside its assessment environment to fully reflect relationships in the market as a whole, and apply to these new instruments as well.
