SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Troll crude Quality Premium now pricing in Platts Cash BFOE M3

Following the introduction of Troll as part of the Dated Brent assessment for cargoes loading from January 2018, Platts has now started assessing contracts for which a Troll Quality Premium (QP) is applicable.

Platts has introduced a Troll QP to complement existing QPs for Oseberg and Ekofisk for cargoes loading from April 2019. Platts is now assessing April Cash BFOE, which includes the Troll QP.

This follows on from a proposal made September 20, 2018 and available here: https://www.spglobal.com/platts/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/092018-pl atts-proposes-to-launch-troll-crude-quality-premium-from-apr-loading.

A decision note was published November 13, 2018 and is available here: https://www.spglobal.com/platts/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/111318-pl atts-to-introduce-troll-crude-quality-premium-from-april-2019-loadings

The methodology used to determine the QP applicable to Troll deliveries follows the established methodology for Oseberg and Ekofisk, and is applicable to Troll cargoes nominated for loading from April 2019 onwards.

As with Oseberg and Ekofisk, the Quality Premium for Troll is published at 60% of the net price difference between Troll and the most competitive grade of crude among Brent, Forties, Oseberg, Ekofisk and Troll for the full month prior to announcement.

Further details on the methodology for the Platts Quality Premiums can be found in the Platts Crude Oil Methodology Guide available here: https://www.spglobal.com/platts/en/our-methodology/methodology-specifications /oil/crude-oil-methodology
