Following a period of subscriber feedback, S&P Global Platts has changed the basis of the Middle East Marker (MEM) to ports in the Arabian Gulf from December 3, 2018. These will be Mina Al Ahmadi, Kuwait, Jebel Ali, UAE and Ruwais, UAE. This follows a proposal published September 20, 2018: www.platts.com.es/subscriber-notes-details/21162469. The basis of the assessment has been changed from the Egyptian port of Ain Sukhna -- the region's previously most active import terminal -- as deliveries have fallen dramatically since the launch of the MEM in 2017. Platts invites all questions and feedback about this decision to LNGeditorialteam@spglobal.com and pricegroup@spglobal.com.
