SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts amends color specification for FOB Singapore gasoline cargoes

Following market feedback, S&P Global Platts has amended the color property reflected in its FOB Singapore 92 RON unleaded, 95 RON unleaded and 97 RON unleaded gasoline to include colorless to the current color and appearance property for its FOB Singapore gasoline assessments starting December 2, 2019.

The new property will reflect gasoline cargoes which will remain undyed, but colorless to light yellow. The previous property for color for FOB Singapore 92 RON unleaded, 95 RON unleaded and 97 RON unleaded is undyed and light yellow.

Low sulfur gasoline cargoes exported from North Asian refineries are sometimes colorless.

All other parameters and standard for FOB Singapore gasoline cargoes will remain unchanged.

Platts periodically reviews the specifications of all its assessments to ensure they are representative of the most tradable grades. Such reviews may lead to changes to the existing specifications of an assessment, though any changes would be subject to further industry consultation ahead of any final decision.
