Platts changes symbols for 12 South America-US container box rates, bunker charge assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has changed symbols for 12 pre-existing daily spot container freight rate and bunker excluded container rate assessments.

The new symbols have been created to move PCR41, PCR42, PBC41 and PBC42 symbols (PCR4100, PCR4103, PBX4100, PBX4103, PCR4200, PCR4203, PBX4200, PBX4203, PBC4100, PBC4103, PBC4200, PBC4203), to further align in accordance with other Commodity Insights container assessments.

PCR4100, PCR4103, PBX4100, PBX4103, PCR4200, PCR4203, PBX4200, PBX4203, PBC4100, PBC4103, PBC4200 and PBC4203 have been discontinued and replaced by PCR5600, PCR5603, PBX5600, PBX5603, PCR5700, PCR5703, PBX5700, PBX5703, PBC5600, PBC5603, PBC5700 and PBC5703.

Furthermore, all historical pricing data for PCR4100, PCR4103, PBX4100, PBX4103, PCR4200, PCR4203, PBX4200, PBX4203, PBC4100, PBC4103, PBC4200 and PBC4203 is available under the new symbols shown above.

The new Platts Container rate and Bunker Charge symbols appear on the following publications: Dry Freight Wire, Dry Freight Wire Monthly and Bunkerwire, and on Platts Bunker Alert pages PGB3960 and PGB3961, and Platts Shipping Alert pages SHP0520 and SHP0521.
