Platts on December 1, 2014 is launching a number of new dry bulk Supramax and Handysize freight assessments, reflecting established trade routes of grain, scrap and petcoke from the UK Continent, Baltic, US Gulf coast, US East Coast, and Black Sea, following a proposal to do so published in October.
Platts is launching assessments for all routes proposed, except for a 25,000 mt, steam coal route from Yuzhny, Ukraine to Iskenderun, Turkey, which Platts will continue to review.
These new assessments reflect strong market interest in these routes and are based on modern Supramax and Handysize dry bulk tonnage. Each assessment is published on a dollar per metric ton basis. A full list of new assessments is provided below.
