Platts on December 1, 2014 is launching a number of new dry bulk Panamax freight assessments reflecting established trade routes of coal, grain and iron ore from East coast Canada, US East coast, US Gulf Coast, Brazil and the Black Sea, following a proposal to do so published in October.
Platts is launching assessments for all routes proposed, except for a 70,000 mt, iron ore route from Sao Luis, Brazil to Rotterdam, Netherlands, which Platts will continue to review.
These new assessments reflect strong market interest in these routes based on modern Panamax dry bulk tonnage. Each assessment is published on a dollar per metric ton basis. A full list of new assessments is provided below.
