SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts proposes to discontinue Nile Blend crude differential to Minas ICP

S&P Global Platts proposes to discontinue its assessment of the differential of Nile Blend crude oil to the Indonesia Crude Price (ICP) for Minas, with effect from March 2, 2020.

Platts understands that the spot market for Nile Blend crude, which is produced from oil fields in Sudan and South Sudan, now typically trades as a differential against Platts Dated Brent crude assessments. Platts will continue to publish its assessment of Nile Blend differential to Asia Dated Brent under code AAPAM00.

The proposed discontinuation of Nile Blend crude differential to Minas ICP would not alter any other aspects of Platts assessments of the crude. Platts assesses Nile Blend on an outright basis at Asia MOC close under code AAPLC00 and at London close under code AAPAL00.

Under the proposal, the following assessments would be discontinued: Assessment CODE Mavg Nile Blend FOB Sudan vs ICP AAPEX00 AAPEX03

The assessment for Nile Blend crude differential to Minas ICP is published on Platts Global Alert (PGA) Page 2216 under the stated code.
