SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts to launch CFR China benzene price assessments

After launching a proposal in early November and soliciting market feedback, Platts confirms that it will publish CFR China benzene price assessments on a daily basis with effect from November 30, 2015.

The methodology for the CFR China daily assessment has been revised as follows:

Assessment window: Daily assessments CFR China (CFR China LC 90 days) will be based on latest information sourced from the market up to the close of the assessment window at 4:30 pm Singapore time (0830 GMT).

Timing: Daily assessments CFR China evaluate cargoes for delivery in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth half-month forward cycles. The daily CFR China marker takes the average of the mean of the third and fourth half-month forward assessment ranges (first and second half-month forward published assessment cycle). Each half-month assessment cycle covers 15 or 16 days. All half-month cycles are rolled forward on the 1st and 16th day of each calendar month. For example, on March 1, 2015, the half-month cycles assessed would be H2 March, H1 April, H2 April and H1 May.
