SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts to launch new dry bulk Panamax assessments Dec 1

Platts confirms that it will launch a number of new dry bulk Panamax freight assessments on December 1, 2014 reflecting established trade routes of coal, grain and iron ore from East coast Canada, US East coast, US Gulf Coast, Brazil and the Black Sea.

The launch of assessments for these routes follows feedback to Platts' proposal, published on October 3. Platts is launching assessments for all routes proposed, except for a 70,000 mt, iron ore route from Sao Luis, Brazil to Rotterdam, Netherlands, which Platts will continue to review.

These new assessments reflect strong market interest in these routes and will be based on modern Panamax dry bulk tonnage. Each assessment would be published on a dollar per metric ton basis. A full list of new assessments is provided below.
