Platts discontinues European biomethane GOs mtCO2e conversion calculations

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has discontinued mtCO2e conversions for European biomethane Guarantees of Origin (GO) waste assessments, effective Nov. 17.

This is due to the market trend for greater emphasis on granular carbon intensity (CI) information as an indicator of value for biomethane certificates. CI is also less effectively reflected by static conversion factors.
